The Multi-Use Technical Tool (M.U.T.T.)

M.U.T.T

The M.U.T.T was designed with versatility in mind for the unique environment of the Utility Industry, specifically for working on or from utility poles. The M.U.T.T is intended to be placed in key locations on the pole to increase Lineman efficiency and safety. The M.U.T.T can be used for rigging, hoisting, rescue, and fall protection as well as many other uses.

The M.U.T.T installs quickly and easily on existing 5/8” through bolts and by design replaces the existing washer. On new poles, the anchor can be specified at predetermined locations as a “prevention through design” product for multiple intended uses.

The design is simple, direct and based on Utility Industry standards. It has been engineered and manufactured specifically to integrate into the current environment, matching the hardware and tools that are used on a daily basis by Linemen. Heavy duty 3/16” steel washer plate with a radius to match pole, hot dipped galvanized finish for durability and extended life in the field, and a proof loaded D-ring that will endure the stresses of its intended use including fall protection. Easily mounted at any height, simple and cost effective to retrofit onto existing 5/8” hardware and fully compliant with the OSHA 1910:210 standard.

The M.U.T.T. is extremely strong and is designed to be durable and functional even under the most adverse environments. In upset conditions such as storms, outages, emergencies, snow, etc. the value of The M.U.T.T. will be evident and during your standard work process with on a pole it will ensure your tasks are completed efficiently and safely. The M.U.T.T. will meet or exceed current OSHA, ANSI, and CSA requirements for a fall protection. It. has an ultimate breaking strength of over 8,900 pounds and pull-test strength of over 8,000 pounds using 5/8” hardware. This design has a vertically swiveling D-ring that moves with the worker and has a 50 year life expectancy.

The Rescue M.U.T.T.M.U.T.T

The Rescue M.U.T.T.’s ease of installation, versatility and ability to be placed at any location on the pole make it a required tool for fall protection rescue operations or any emergency situation. Simply installed using 2 industry standard Kortick style pound in anchor bolts create an OSHA compliant, 5,000 pound rated anchor point. The Rescue M.U.T.T. was designed and built for emergency and rescue in mind but is versatile enough for virtually any situation to the linemen work environment such as rigging, hoisting, and fall protection.

Efficient installation and cost effective the Rescue M.U.T.T. can realistically be placed in every linemen’s tool bag and on every crew’s truck. This OSHA compliant, multi-use tool is also versatile enough to meet the requirements or field rigging, hoisting, and fall protection. The Rescue M.U.T.T. allows your crews to be as prepared as possible in an upset emergency condition and provides a tool for a variety of other practical uses.

The Roof M.U.T.T.M.U.T.T

The Roof M.U.T.T. is designed to maximize safety on metal frame roof structures. It acts as a fall arrest anchor point from which workers can tie off to maximize their safety in all situations including when the roof is slippery due to rain, snow or ice.

The Roof M.U.T.T.is supplied with a 5/8” x 4” bolt that has been hot-dipped galvanized. The bolt can be installed inverted through the metal truss and penetrates the roof decking or standard installation with the nut in the inside of the building envelope. The anchor is attached with a 5/8” hot dipped galvanized lock washer and 1 or 2 ea. 5/8” x 11 thread per inch nuts the roof deck and is sealed with a butyl membrane. UST warrants waterproofing and flashing base for 20 years.
